Total Budget
Food and transportation in Singapore is inexpensive and admission to most attractions is fairly cheap. Thus the daily budget on average is calculated to be $200 CAD. Over the course of the 10 days, the sum adds up to $2,000 CAD ($2,543 SGD).

The cost of the hostel per night is $20.50 CAD. Over the course of 9 nights, the sum adds up to $185 CAD.

$815 CAD will be added to the budget for any extravagant shopping.

The cost of the return flight from Toronto to Singapore cost $2,000 CAD.

In total, the entire trip will cost $5,000 CAD, however an additional $1,000 CAD will be added to the budget for emergency use. This brings the total budget to $6,000 CAD per person.

 6,000.00 CAD = 7,630.01 SGD

As I will be graduating this summer and start to work, this money should not be a problem to make by August 2013. Even though this may seem like a lot of money for a 10 day trip, the values and lessons I learn from going on this trip sooner will be worth it in the long run.

What I hope to take away from this trip
My biggest hope of this whole journey is that I learn something new about myself. One must experience new things in order to grow, that is the meaning of life. Going on vacation is not just an outlet for relaxation, it also allows us to take a step away from our everyday life and to see it from a different perspective. From there we may open our eyes to possibilities that may never have crossed our minds before. The world is so vast, with so many people living so many different ways of life. Tourism allows us to experience these differences which in turn might help us to see what is truly important in what we value as being human.
